The Colorado River
Notice the Colorado River in the above. The view
here at Cape Royal is the only view of the river
from the North Rim. The portion of river you see
is 70 river miles below Lees Ferry, the site from
which all points on the Colorado River in Grand
Canyon are measured.
From the section of river you see, it is still another
18 miles downriver (to your right) to Phantom
Ranch (not visible), and 207 river miles to Lake
Mead and the western end of Grand Canyon.
