This is an unusual view of an unusual part of
Grand Canyon. The opposite canyon wall drops
abruptly to the Colorado River; the rim there is
merely 3/4 mile from the river. Here on the North
Rim you are 10 miles from the Colorado River.
This creates a canyon profile found nowhere
else in Grand Canyon.
